Early Childhood Careers I and II

Program Description:
Early Childhood Careers I
This program will focus on caring for and teaching young children. Using standards established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the state of Michigan, students will participate i classroom activities, individual student, and field study. Students that successfully complete this course will acquire entry level skills for employment in the child care industry.

Early Childhood Careers II
This Individual study program is for students who have successfully completed Early Childhood Careers I. Additional field study experiences and out of class work will help students develop their understanding of young children. This course will help students obtain entry level jobs in the child care industry and prepare them for college course work. Students choosing to articulate college credit must successfully complete both ECCI and ECCII.

Program Prerequisites
EEC I: Students must have completed the 10th grade of high school. Prior to field study, students will need to verify that their immunizations are current have an updated TB test and FIA clearance. Students (parent) need to provide transportation to field study.
